LeBron Injured? Oh No!

My star investment left tonight's game with a sprained index finger and will not return. Against the Pistons of all people! I smell foul play, espcially after last year's playoffs and this commercial (peep Tayshaun Prince run like a girl):

Over $12,000,000 down the drain! Luckily young LeBlog James has a back up plane 2,000 miles away. Will keep you posted. Get well soon Bron Bron. Go train in the pool!

2 Is Not A Winner, 3 Nobody Remembers

I'm on a mission in Miami. Three main goals:

1) Defeat Khaled
2) Create a new genre of hit music
3) Defeat Everyone in my Fantasy Basketball League

This post is about number 3. I've been to two Heat games already scouting Dwayne Wade and Ricky Davis. Wade is getting back to 100% so I'll probably trade for him next week. Ricky is too inconsistent for me. LeBron has had 4 triple doubles this season. B-Diddy has 2. I'm counting on Bogut, Calderon and Udrich to have huge weeks for me. I'm down by -104 points right now. I'm in second by about 100. I don't like second. I'm a winner. Here are the standings and starting lineup:

Rank Team Name Last Total PB†
1 I Can Make You Second 4483.5 -
2 The Secret Agents 4379.5 -104
3 Ft. Greene Leans 4171 -312.5
4 RichmanRams 4059.5 -424
5 Memphis Pros 3846 -637.5
6 King Day Shooters 3795.5 -688
7 Goon Squad 3150.5 -1333
8 Young Rich & Famous 3052.5 -1431
9 COACH K ALL STARS 2938.5 -1545
10 The Underdogs 2725 -1758.5
11 It's Wynter Time! 2142.5 -2341

Starting Line Up

PG - Baron Davis
SG - Steven Jackson
SF - LeBron James
PF - Danny Granger
C - Andrew Bogut

6th Man - Jose Calderon

Bench

G - Ronnie Brewer
G - Beno Udrich
F - Sean Williams
C - Brendan Haywood

Alicia Keys Is The King Of New York

Alicia Keys sold 742,000 in her first week. That's more than Curtis' and Jigga's last TWO albums 1st weeks. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Maybe I should try and get back with her.

50 Cent's Curtis 1st Week: 691,000
Jay-Z's American Gangster 1st Week: 425,000
Jay-Z's Kingdom Come 1st Week: 681,000

...And If We Get The Fighting, I'm Tasering Your Bitch Ass
Tasers are the new nightsticks for cops. First a school kid getting shocked for asking Senator Kerry a question about voter suppression. Now this poor guy, 60s baby Robert Dziekanski, gets tasered to DEATH because he was looking for his mother. Best believe if I lost my mom in a airport and I didn't speak the native language, some computers are getting thrown down. And what the hell are in these tasers? 280 people have died by taser in Canada since 2001. It's legal in some providences to walk around with them. Here's what the polish ambassador to Canada had to say:

The Polish government has sent two lawyers to Vancouver to investigate the death and raised the issue with Canadian officials and diplomats. After watching the recording, Piotr Ogrodzinski, the Polish ambassador to Canada, said he found the use of a Taser on Mr. Dziekanski to be excessive.

“He was desperately in search of assistance or help,” Mr. Ogrodzinski said. “He did break a computer and throw a stool, but there was no gesture suggesting that he intended to fight anybody. Here was a very helpless person, a disoriented person.”

Marbury: Closer To God But Further From Knicks
Crazy Ass Stephon might be traded. Before you read the article, please watch the youtube to put everything in perspective.

From NY Daily News:

A high-ranking team official told the Daily News that Thomas and Dolan have been in talks in recent days concerning Marbury's future. Knicks brass is considering what options it has to reduce Marbury's role or get rid of him entirely.

A trade is unlikely because Marbury, the team's controversial point guard, is scheduled to earn $42 million over the next two seasons. Dolan's and Thomas' history suggests that they would not rule out negotiating a buyout for Marbury, who then would become a free agent. At the very least, Marbury's minutes could be reduced substantially for as long as he remains on the team.

The Knicks are 2-3 entering tonight's game in Phoenix. Marbury, 30, made the trip west but there is some uncertainty whether he will even play. The Knicks traveled to Phoenix yesterday afternoon and were not available for comment. Attempts to reach Thomas at the team hotel were unsuccessful.

Marbury accepted responsibility for Sunday's loss to Miami after he threw away a pass in the final minute and allowed Heat guard Jason Williams to get open and hit the go-ahead jumper.

However, blaming Marbury for the Knicks' record is unfair, especially since Jamal Crawford had a similarly brutal turnover and has struggled defensively. The same is true of Eddy Curry, who was a nonfactor in back-to-back performances against Orlando's Dwight Howard and Miami's Shaquille O'Neal.

Perhaps Marbury is being set up as the scapegoat in the aftermath of the Anucha Browne Sanders sexual harassment trial. Marbury testified that he once referred to Sanders as a "bitch." It was also revealed during the trial that Marbury, a married father, had an affair with a Garden employee who was a public relations intern at the time.

Also, Marbury made several infamous and bizarre television appearances over the summer that embarrassed the organization. Marbury has maintained a low profile since the start of training camp and has even attempted to extend olive branches to those members of the media that he has feuded with for the past several years.

Jay also spoke on the collaboration."I met Saigon before," he told MTV. "He's a cool guy as well. But Just Blaze ... that's his artist. So we had records and work like that. It's in-house. Big fan? Of Saigon? Yeah, he's good...But I wouldn't have did it ... to be honest with you. I like Saigon. If I don't have a relationship with the artist, I'm not just doing it for the sake of doing it. If you look at my past record, I've done records because of relationship, not 'cause this guy's good or whatever."

18-Year Old Shot 20 Times By Cops Over Hairbrush

A young man was fatally shot last night in a hail of 20 bullets fired by five police officers who responded to his mother’s 911 call for help in a domestic dispute in Brooklyn, the authorities said.

The police said they believed that the man, Khiel Coppin, 18, had a gun. But when the gunfire stopped, it turned out that he had been holding a hairbrush.

The cops fired 20 shots before they realized it was a hairbrush! A hairbrush! And according to the witness, he dropped the hairbrush before they started firing. It's not even safe for a mother to call the cops on her own son without the risk of them killing her kid. And the slap in the face is this:

The police said they were also exploring the possibility that Mr. Coppin was trying to prompt a shooting, a phenomenon known as “suicide by cop.”

DJ Khaled's Trying To Brainwash Us

DJ Khaled is on some ole 1984 shit. I know where he's going when preaching "love", "unity", "who? weeeee!", "we the best!" etc. He's not fooling me. I must stop him before he enslaves us all.

Law 27

Play on People’s Need to Believe to Create a Cultlike Following

People have an overwhelming desire to believe in something. Become the focal point of such desire by offering them a cause, a new faith to follow. Keep your words vague but full of promise; emphasize enthusiasm over rationality and clear thinking. Give your new disciples rituals to perform, ask them to make sacrifices on your behalf. In the absence of organized religion and grand causes, your new belief system will bring you untold power.

He gets all these artists to collaborate and make some of the biggest songs of their careers (Law 24, Play the Perfect Courtier). Khaled just goes into the studio, brainwashes the artists with his mantras and gets them to make the best records of their lives. He gets his producers (The Runners, Cool & Dre) to provide the biggest beats for these newly motivated artists (Law 7
Get others to do the Work for you, but Always Take the Credit
).

Law 43

Work on the Hearts and Minds of Others

Coercion creates a reaction that will eventually work against you. You must seduce others into wanting to move in your direction. A person you have seduced becomes your loyal pawn. And the way to seduce others is to operate on their individual psychologies and weaknesses. Soften up the resistant by working on their emotions, playing on what they hold dear and what they fear. Ignore the hearts and minds of others and they will grow to hate you.

Though you and I love these songs, and his motivational speaker-like rants, he must be stopped. It starts with Lil Wayne, TI, Rick Ross, Plies, Fat Joe collabos. But it only begins in Miami (Law 23 Concentrate Your Forces). Next thing you know he'll have Doug Morris, Lyor Cohen, LA Reid, Clive Davis, Jimmy Iovine and every other top exec working together and creating monopolies. God forbid he goes into politics. I can see George W., Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Rudy Guliani and every other major politician on stage with Khaled screaming "We The Best"! Khaled at United Nations talking about "I'm about loooove and unityyyyyy".

Then BOOM! Khaled, leader of teh free world. We must stop him before it gets too late!

Need more proof? Check out these videos:

Create Compelling Spectacles

Striking imagery and grand symbolic gestures create the aura of power – everyone responds to them. Stage spectacles for those around you, then full of arresting visuals and radiant symbols that heighten your presence. Dazzled by appearances, no one will notice what you are really doing.

Poor Woman Orgasms Every 10 Minutes
This is too funny for words. I'll just bold the best parts.

Spotted @ Crunk & Disorderly

SARAH Carmen, 24, says the Permanent Sexual Arousal Syndrome that she suffers from can cause her to have orgasm at any time of day.

She explained: "Anything can set me off. Even the hairdryers cause funny pulsations through my body.

"As a skin care specialist I have to use tools which vibrate a lot of the time for micro-dermabrasion and they sometimes set me off.

"I find if I'm nervous I'm less likely to get over-excited. So sometimes I try to psyche myself up and worry to control my orgasms.

"Some of my regular customers know my problem. But with new clients it's hard to explain.

"I have been in the middle of a treatment and it's happened and I've had to carry on.

"I was doing a bikini wax and you have to really concentrate and keep your hands very still, and mine go a bit wobbly when I orgasm.

"I had to pretend I had cramp in my foot and just stood there wriggling around on the spot and stifling my moans until it was over."

Sarah's friends think she is the luckiest girl ever, although her family think her behaviour is sometimes slightly odd.

She said: "The best way to describe how I am when I am with my family and I have one of my 'moments' is that I behave like Sheila from Shameless.

"I just get a bid giddy and yelp out and try to control myself. I've never sat down and explained it to my mum and dad, it's just too weird.

"They just think I get a bit hyperactive round them.

"My friends think it's great. I have more orgasms in one day than most of them will probably have in a year.

"They say to me that they feel lucky if their boyfriend makes them have one orgasm-some days I have one every ten minutes."

It has proved to be a problem for Sarah in some relationships.

She said: "I dated one guy who was very selfish and he was that way in the bedroom too. He'd just lie back and expect me to please him.

"He just figured that because I could climax without him even having to touch me, he didn't need to do anything to please me.

"I just thought that was rude and inconsiderate. It didn't last very long with him."

She has also had embarrassing moments in public. Going to noisy bars and clubs is out of the question as the vibrations send her wild.

"We have to find nice quiet bars," she explained. "I have more orgasms if I have a drink as it relaxes me so I tend to drink very little now.

"It can be a bit embarrassing if I'm tipsy and guys who don't know me talk to me, because I find it harder to hide.

"The most embarrassing thing that has happened was when I answered a market research questionnaire and had an orgasm in front of the researcher.

"She knew what was happening and looked at me like I was a weirdo. I tried to explain that I couldn't help it, but I was blushing so much I had to walk away."

Sarah has even been to a Sex Addicts' Anonymous meeting in despair over her sex drive.

She said: "At first when the problem started I just wanted to have sex all the time, I thought I was a sex addict.

"But when I looked around the room and heard the stories other people told, about how desperate they were for sex, I realised I wasn't like them.

"With me, it was a means of releasing my orgasm, but now I know I don't have to have sex to do that."

Sarah has looked into the condition and believes it may have been triggered by her taking anti-depressants.

She said: "I've found studies that say that taking anti-depressants and then stopping has an effect on the sexual organs. That is the only thing that explains what happens to me.

"But I've heard of other girls who have the same problem and it just appears out of the blue. I've spoken to my doctor about it but she wasn't a great deal of help but that's mainly because there's very little known about it and no one yet knows how to cure it."

Thanks to her understanding friends and colleagues, Sarah feels like she can now live with PSAS.

She said: "I'm lucky because people around me are very kind and appreciate that sometimes this is a problem for me and it can be embarrassing.

"I need to concentrate on something sad or worrying when I talk to people and I don't want to get carried away."

During our 40-minute interview, Sarah told us she had five orgasms.

Years of dealing with the problem means that sometimes she can hide it quite well.

Her voice goes high pitched and she will lose her train of thought and have to stop talking completely for a few seconds. She says disguises this by coughing when she is in awkward situations.

"But it's also nice to have so much excitement every day! It's strange because it came from nowhere and I guess it could go away just as quickly, so I'm making the most of it while it lasts!"

Jay-Z Performs With Lil Wayne, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel & R.I.P. To Kanye's Mom

New Kanye Video "Good Morning"

Chris Rock on the state of rap:

“Music kind of sucks. Nobody’s into being a musician. Everybody’s getting their mogul on. You’ve been so infiltrated by this corporate mentality that all the time you’d spend getting great songs together, you’re busy doing nine other things that have nothing to do with art. You know how shitty Stevie Wonder’s songs would have been if he had to run a fuckin’ clothing company and a cologne line?… Rap sucks, for the most part. Not all rap, but as an art form it’s just not at its best moment. Sammy the Bull would have made a shitty album. And I don’t really have a desire to hear Warren Buffett’s album - or the new CD by Paul Allen. That’s what everybody’s aspiring to be.”

Ed Cota & The Greatest Missed Dunk Ever
I grew up hearing about this playground legend all around Brooklyn. He's the reason I'm a Tar Heel fan. The ultimate distributor. It's ashame he never made it to the L. I'm copping a Cota jersey on eBay asap.

Props to SOHH for the memories

Saw this missed dunk live back when I was living on Lincoln Road between Nostrand and Rogers. Only if Vince's fragile ass would've caught it. SMH.

And here's a Ed Cota youtube tribute

Here's an excerpt from a 2004 interview:

You’ve been out of school for a few years. How old are you now, and are you still looking at the NBA as a possibility?

I’m 28, and that’s my goal. No matter how old I get, that’s my goal just because I know I can play in that league. It’s unfortunate that I haven’t had a shot at playing in the NBA—a good shot. But I still feel like I’ll be able to make it there. I just have to take it one year at a time. A lot of people say I’m getting old, which is true, but at 28, 29, 30, I’m saying ‘til 32 at least, those are your best years really. I’m getting better as I get older.

"Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn't Work Hard"
From unseeded Mercer College Basketball Coach Mark Slonake to his team preparing for No. 18 USC:

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard,"'

This is my quote of the week. Everyone knows incredibly talented people with horrible work ethics. One of my favorite rappers, Nas, would be bigger than Jay and 50 if he put in more work. Tracy McGrady has more talent than anyone in the NBA but Kobe outworks him. Mercer coach Mark Slonake has just given me another life mantra.
