"Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn't Work Hard"
From unseeded Mercer College Basketball Coach Mark Slonake to his team preparing for No. 18 USC:

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard,"'

This is my quote of the week. Everyone knows incredibly talented people with horrible work ethics. One of my favorite rappers, Nas, would be bigger than Jay and 50 if he put in more work. Tracy McGrady has more talent than anyone in the NBA but Kobe outworks him. Mercer coach Mark Slonake has just given me another life mantra.

I agree. You can have all of the talent in the world, but if you don't use it to your full potential, you might lose to someone who has less talent, but works harder.

@ the end of the day hard work is what will get you your respect, but my man harlem has a good point. If you are working hard and no one has given you an opportunity to do what you do you may not go far. But Nas just didn't work hard.

Thats What Im talking about 124th and lenox. You can g oas hard as you possibly can, but If you dont have someone saying to the next guy. like yo dude right there might be worthwhile looking at, then it all means nothing. or you can jus tblast dudes who are madd fake and ge texposure that way..sort of like 50 cent. Sickamore i got nothing but respect for your grind and what you do, but dont sit here and act like someone wasnt looking out for you, thats bullshit. Oppurtunity comes when someone sees and says something, until then you can be Micheal Jordan but if noone says damn dude got game then its all in vain.

I AGREE WITH U, I BELIEVE NO STRUGGLE = NO PROGRESS. IN ORDER TO BE GREAT AT WHAT WE DO WE GOTTA PLAY HARD & BE SMART, MOST OF ALL WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO HAVE AN APPETITE TO BE GREAT @ WHAT WE DO...IN THE END WE HAVE TO BE **iNSANELY uNTOUCHABLE**...

I think many successful folks make their own breaks. People often see a success story as the result of merely being in "right place at right time" (or knowing the right folks) but fail to acknowledge all the failures and struggles that came before the eventual success. So, I think to really reach your goals/dreams you must be willing to fail.

Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to grasp so much approximately this, such as you wrote the
guide in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with a few %
to pressure the message house a bit, however instead of that,
that is wonderful blog. An excellent read. I'll certainly be back.
