Don't like the soundtrack???

 

I haven't seen it yet either... but DAMN has everyone been trying to get me to watch a bootleg version of it all week! I'm with you Sic, I don't do bootlegs.

I saw the bootleg...and I'm going to see the movie..Anyway, the movie is fuckin great. Bottom line..fuckin great. I live in Atlanta (Decatur to be exact) and the movie hit the streets early..My curiosity got to me...I had to watch. I was intrigued every second of viewing this early version..George Lucas can direct the fuck out of a movie, but Frank Lucas TRUE STORY made for a better storyline than many movies I've seen recently. Before I watched it, I had heard that some people weren't pleased by what they saw. As soon as I heard this, it made me want to see it even more because a lot of times things people don't like, I end up liking..People are so trend-led. It has been years since I've seen a biopic this good and people are already hating..Oh well..Cause the story is the truth and Nicholson said it best, people don't like the truth..They want to see people hacked up in Saw 19 and shit..Go get a fuckin history lesson..Even if you already seen the bootleg, go support the movie..Hollywood is Mt. Olympus and Denzel is the Zeus of the shit..

YO FIRST OFF THE MOVIE WAS REAL DOPE FROM THE WAY DENZEL PROTRAY FRANK LUCAS ..ITS A MOVIE THATS SURE GONNA BE CONSIDER A CLASSIC AND THATS REALLY GONNA BE LIKE THE SCARFACE OF MY CHILDRENS LIFE..SO BIG UPS TO THE WHOLE AMERICAN GANGSTER MOVIE IT WAS DOPE IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!

anywhoo...being the gangster flick junkie that i am, i felt it was your typical gangster movie minus the "frills". I knew about Frank Lucas prior to this movie and I thought it was fascinating that he managed to Bamboozle the US Government and use the MILITARY to smuggle all that gosh darn heroin.

I don't care how he met his wife. I dont care how big the house was that he bought his mother...you got modern day "gangsters" doing that right now. Aside from the scene where he blows dudes brains out in broad daylight and calmly walks back to eat with his family before his grits got cold was freaking classic. But I wanted to know who were the KEY PLAYERS in this overseas arrangement.

I guess theres only so much film you can spend on a mastermind who "works" with the US Military to filter Heroin into the 5 Boroughs.

 

i fuckin loved it...
the characters keep you guessing as to whats happenin next. i think denzel played him really well!!
had to go see it in the theaters, the bootleg wouldnt do justice!
