Charles Barkley Is Right

I like Cleveland. The city has treated me well the 4 times I've been there. They love their Browns (even Braylon Edwards). They love their Indians no matter how many times they lose. But they absolutely worship Lebron James. And that's why I believe Charles Barkley is right.

"If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up."

"The outside forces should never affect your locker room," Barkley said. "I think LeBron has made some of the right comments, but he hasn't made the perfect comment. He still alienated 11 guys in his locker room. What I mean by that, he hasn't said, "We are 12-3 right now" we are a championship-caliber team and we are going to win multiple championships here while I'm here, period, end of story."
It's what everyone in Cleveland was thinking but everyone was too scared to say. Didn't want to piss the king off. But it's a reality check from an NBA old head. I don't believe Sir Charles was being malicious or "stupid", as LBJ says. He's just looking out for a fellow future legend.

Now with that being said, 2010 can't get here fast enough! Let's go Knicks!

I've been to Cleveland as well and I think its Browns country solely. Of course, the Browns are disappointing this season, but despite the Cavs being better, this is a football city. It goes Browns, Cavs, Indians. Most cities are football cities nowadays except for places like St. Louis where they breathe baseball. I think Barkley was right and LeBron is basking in this moment and loves the attention, but doesn't understand how selfish it looks. As for Braylon Edwards, he got invited to Times Square on New Years Eve to drop the ball. Peace

Yeah, Sir Charles definitely put the young homie in line. Hopefully LeBron thought about it after saying that to the press, and he realized what Chales was doing.

That being said, I don't think LeBron will leave Cleveland without a ring. If he gets a ring there, then going to NYC seems more feasible.

Its hard to say that Lebron won't get a title in the next two years because Dan Gilbert will do everything in his power to get him a title. They are over the luxury tax and Gilbert will still trade Wally for another solid contributor this February. But what if Lebron doesn't win a title. Who's to say he won't go to NY? He will and officially become the A-Rod of basketball. All money, no rings. I don't care who the Knicks sign with Lebron - Amare, Nash, Bosh, Wade. With D'anphony as the head coach, they will never get anywhere.

Oh, the Knicks. You gotta love a team named after old school pants.

    One.
