-Grownupness: No one over 21 should have an Sidekick. But is the iPhone just Sidekick 2.0? Grown Folks BB -BB Messenger: The Real Twitter -Keypad: You want a real keypad, nt these small ass pop up letters -Plan: Wild cheaper than the $65 a month I'd be kicking out for the iPhone -Video: The new Bold can catch video. Very important to a serial blogger liek myself
-Maintenance: Problem? Just go to the Geek Squad. Instead of praying my BB is still under warrenty -No Trackball: It always jams -90s Babies: 90s Babies respect the 3G -iPod: It's an iPod too! -App Store: Let's face it. BB Apps are wack. Blackberry 411 aint cutting it
They Both Lose On:
-Battery Life: Don't talk on the phone with either. You finished yet? You're finished!
Sick let's face it. We BlackBerry users love the BlackBerry but you know right after the Bold drops comes the BB 9000 "The Thunder" aka The touchscreen joint http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/06/08/blackberry-thunder-live-shot-damn-were-good/ and we all know any touchscreen to drop these days ain't nothing but iPhone swagger jacks. So while BB has exclusives like the so so addictive BB messenger you might as well stick with the official tissue and rock with the iphone. You already got a Mac and an iPod.
As an ex-Apple slave, I say: DO NOT buy that iPhone! I promise you will regret it.
First off, everybody and their great-aunt Millie has one. I saw an 8 yr old walk out of the Apple store with an iPhone last week. They have a shitload of glitches! It freezes, doesn't play songs, and sometimes it just shuts itself off, for no reason. The onscreen textpad is annoying and will have you sitting their for 20 mins trying to type "LMAO". You can't record video or send/recieve picture messages. Some of them overheat and will burn the shit out of you, too.
The BB is more of a grownup business type phone to me. I would say go for that, but if you do decide to get the iPhone, I suggest you wait. In a good month or two, they will most likely release a new update to fix glitches and a new model of the phone.
If you have the money, why not both? Data plan on BB, phone plan on Iphone.
*Klep remembers its 2008 and gas is almost $5 a gallon*
...okay fuck that idea, how about an unlocked iphone on whatever carrier you're on now. No AT&T Rape-age with their plans and you can still keep all the nights/weekends you have now. Downside to that is no 3G unless your company has 3G service.
You're definitely more of a BB person but no matter how "much better" the BB is going to be in the opinions of BB users, its still not an iPhone.
Thats the reason we're even having this conversation right now, because BB users are trying to convince themselves and each other that "Hey...this phone can be just as cool if not even morrrrrrre cool than that stupid iPhone...can't it? No? Anybody?"
...Nope.
When it comes to BB vs. Anything else it'll always come down to BB=Corporate phone for Corporate people doing Corporate things aka "the grown phone" and anything else will be dubbed "young" because thats what all the "young" aka "non corporate people" people will be going ape nuts for.
Sick, out of curiousity... what specific plan would you be taking out for the iPhone & the Bold... you caught my attention when you said less than $65 plan for the Bold. So what's gonna be your minute+text+web plan you are going with?
It's like this: if you want a phone for mostly regular usage and random antics AND you can put up with glitches here and there than get the iPhone. I was thinking that you would probably use it for a lot of business purposes, in which you can't afford for your phone to be fucking up at any given time. However, if you just want a phone that looks good and you can enjoy get the iPhone.
Okay...realistically this is what it comes down to.
The buttons. If you want something that has actual physical buttons then you want the BB Bold.
If the buttons dont really matter much to you, then you want the iphone
because soon enough around the corner, the BB Thunder is going to drop thus making your BB Bold the 2nd coolest BB out and you're going to want to upgrade but the BB Thunder STILL isn't the iPhone.
So if you want buttons, go with the BB, if not...Iphone it is.
i left the sidekick for the iphone in may this year and while i am over 21 (it was nice in the club b.c it doesnt take much to awe a thug when we would exchange numbers) i felt like a laguna beach idiot when using it outside of my college friends.

The Bold is 3G also. Personally, I can't touch the iPhone because of the amount of typing I do. The on-screen keyboards just don't cut it for me.
