I'm a very typical 23 year old man. A movie called "Very Gangster" anything gets my 10 bucks. Went to Cinema Village last night to catch this import.
Just be warned: this isn't your Casino/American Gangster/Goodfellas kind of flick. It's a documentary following around Dominick Noonan, Brixtown's version of Tony Soprano. He extorts and owns a security business. Has a bunch of 17-21 year old flunkies following him around and a big brother with over 20 known murders under his belt.
They follow Noonan around the town where he plays intermediary to domestic disputes, debt collectors and overzealous robbers. Sort of a town hero. SPOILER ALERT! The weirdest part about the movie is Dominick's openly gay. "A little bit of lavender" as they said. They get into too much detail of how this came about. Besides that, he's your typical gangster with 2 kids.
Overall, I recommend you wait AVBG is released on Demand. I fell asleep about 3 times.
And the couple walked into the house. And they heard strange noises. And these killers started chasing them around the property. And they almost got away. And they were captured. And then...
Feel cheated? Incomplete? That's exactly how The Strangers left. I guess it's not supposed to be your traditional classic horror movie. Not I Know What U Did Last Summer. It keeps you trapped in suspense for the first 45 minutes. Every noise, masked barbie doll, dropped glass, token white girl scream etc. But after that the novelty of it all stopped.
The character's weren't developed so I didn't care who lived or died. Just walked out the theater and don't remember any names. The kills had no point. The love story was the scariest part of all. If you've seen the preview, you've seen the movie. Save your money.
Part 1 was incredible. DJ Khaled should turn this into a movie. Him, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, Plies, Trina, Lil Wayne, Baby, Flo-Rida, The Runners, Cool & Dre and everyone else who's in the new XXL.

BUT SPENT MY MONDAY (YESTERDAY) IN CENTRAL BOOKINGS
Who knew that driving with a Criminal Investigation Police Parking Plaque was illegal? They snatched me up right there on Delancey Street. Fresh off the plane from LA. I landed at 9:33pm and in a the back of the detectives car at 11:22pm. Precinct 7 on Broome Street. Internal Affairs pressed me for a name for about 20 minutes. They wanted the cop. Bad. "Last chance, you can get out tonight. It's only possession now but it could turn into a felony". Shrugged by shoulders unknowingly and they sent me off to bookings by 2am.
But I still held the (free) phone down in the bing. Had mad boxes of Frosted Flakes and milks. Then when I switched cells, I used my debit card for collect calls. CO snuck me a Aquafina. Slept on the bench, not the floor. Woke up and my cheese sandwich was still there. Everything was everything. Then they moved me into the cell behind the court.
My lawyer assured me everything was all good. Maybe time served + a fine. The goal is to not get it on my record. A violation at best. 2 hours and another horrible cheese sandwich later, I'm on the court bench.
The chick in front of me was a gangsta's gangsta. 15 years old caught with two fully loaded pistols in a duffel bag at 1am. While her lawyer was arguing she was setup, the girl just stood there smiling the whole time. Smirking uncontrollably. She couldn't believe she was going to walk out of there with having to make a bail. She skipped out the courtroom when the judge gave her a date and curfew. Now it's my turn.
Compared to the teenager, I might as well stole cookies out the cookie jar. "Possession of Stolen Property". $75 fine and gotta come back July 1st. SMH.
All in all I'm happy to be back. Plugged back up to the matrix (and out of jail)

Archie, Cooper, Peyton, Eli = Vito, Fredo, Sonny, Michael
Vito = Archie Manning
Archie is the family patriarch. Two time pro bowler, he built the Manning name up the same way Vito did with Corleone. He had 3 sons to carry on the Manning legacy and fulfill his dream of winning a championship.
Fredo = Cooper Manning
Cooper, like Fredo, is the dumb older brother who was weaker than his two younger brothers. Just as Fredo was sick as a baby, Cooper was diagnosed with spinal stenosis in 1992. That ended any chance for Cooper to be the man and thus never living up to his father's name and power.
Sonny = Peyton Manning
Peyton, like Sonny always seemed to be the air to the throne. But Sonny would always make rushed decisions in crunch time, the way Peyton would rush his throws in the playoffs. Though Peyton had some success and was thought to be the obvious heir to the family, he wasn't cool, calm and collected enough to be "the one".
Michael = Eli Manning
Many questioned whether Eli deserved to be in the family business. They said he wasn't as intelligent as his bigger brother. He never seemed to possess the same leadership qualities as Sonny. Though he showed promise and resilientness against New England in December; similar to when Michael protected his father in the hospital. But after his brother was viciously gunned down in the 2007 playoffs by the San Diego Chargers, Eli stepped up. He showed a quality people didn't know he had by beating Dallas; like when Michael killed Virgil "The Turk" Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey. Moe Greene and Green Bay were taken out like Moe Greene and Las Vegas. Then in a move that shocked the world, Eli defeated the perfect Patriots in the same manner Michael killed all the rival bosses while he was at the christening. That brought both of their reputations up as the strongest forces in New York.

You know the plot. A team playing in the biggest city in the world biggest city begins an unpromising season. Their star player leaves, bashes the team and becomes a TV anchor. The star tight end is a cancer to the locker room. Future hall of fame defensive end going through a bitter public divorce. And the team is being lead by the football version of Fredo while his superstar brother does Gatorade commercials fresh off a Superbowl victory.
The Patriots are the polar opposite. Perfect season. Hall of fame head coach. Super model dating quarterback. But slightly tainted with Spygate.
But the Giants play them hard to the final 2 minutes in the season's finale. It gave the team, and the movie's star Eli, all the momentum it needed to defeat Tampa Bay, the heavily favored "America's team" and finally the beloved Brett Farve.
Unless you've been in a coma the past 24 hours, you know how this movie ends.

This is a big day for me. It's my 100th post on this blog. It's a great achievement for me. To put it in perspective, I didn't have 100 post in XXL in over a year. So now it's a celebration! 2morrow night! I turn 23, Jesus turns 2007.
I don't care if he snitched. I don't care for Jay's soundtrack. I don't watch bootlegs. I love going to the movies and today is the big day. I've had November 2nd circled on my calender for months now. Everyone is telling me it's good, but I have to see it myself. Is it Casino good? Scarface good? Goodfellas good?
